In this series I want to cover some of the amazing features introduced in Objects 3.0 and Objects 3.1 releases. This is 9th release from Nutanix since Objects 1.0 released around August 2019. That’s probably the fastest convergence on getting more releases out in the market. And that says a lot about how much the Nutanix Objects team is committed to bringing more value to the Nutanix customers and simplifying enterprise workloads.

Objects 3.0 : Protection against Ransomware.

With Objects 3.0, Nutanix has taken step further to strengthen data protection against ransomware with Objects Lock feature. Object Lock enables applications to set up a Write Once Read Many (WORM) policy at a per file/object level granularity. This feature guards against unauthorized deletion or encryption of data rendering techniques widely deployed by ransomware attacks ineffective.

Nutanix Objects support IAM users from its first release. Refer this for creating IAM user . In previous article we saw how cert validation happens at Nutanix Objects and client level. But there is more to it when it comes to securing your connection or packet. After cert validation, Nutanix Objects S3 adapter service does further check to authentication user before it processes the request.
